5G Applications

Eaton Electronics offers an expansive portfolio of high-reliability components needed to drive 5G forward. Because 5G telecommunication units are typically placed in rugged environments, continuous uptime requirements for their operation and the reliability of the internal electronics are of great importance. A variety of components, often passives, can be readily added in key locations within 5G communications systems to enhance reliability and mitigate subcircuits susceptible to electrostatic discharge (ESD), electromagnetic interference (EMI), and electromagnetic pulse (EMP). Eaton 5G products can withstand harsh environments while delivering high performance.

Shielded Power Inductors

Eaton Shielded Power Inductors are high-power-density and high-efficiency inductors designed for a wide range of applications. These power inductors provide mechanically secure mounting and rugged construction for high-shock and vibration environments. The shielded power inductors are Halogen-free, lead-free, and comply with RoHS. These power inductors are AEC-Q200 qualified and Moisture Sensitivity Level 1 (MSL 1). Typical applications include body electronics, portable electronics, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), infotainment and cluster electronics, chassis and safety electronics, High-Definition Televisions (HDTV), and LED/LCD backlighting.

DR Series Power Inductors

Eaton Electronics DR Series Power Inductors feature a shielded drum core and include the DR1030, DR1040, DR1050, DR124, and DRQ series. The DR high power density series offers four sizes of shielded drum core inductors, an inductance range of 0.33µH to 1000µH, and a current range of up to 56A. The DR1030, DR1040, and DR1050 inductors have a footprint of 10.5mm x 10.3mm with profile heights of 3mm, 4mm, or 5mm. The DR124 inductors feature a ferrite core material, a 0.47µH to 1000µH inductance range, and a shielded drum core with 12.5mm x 12.5mm x 4.5mm dimensions. The DRQ series includes dual-winding, high-power density inductors that can be used as a single inductor or in coupled inductor/transformer applications. Eaton Electronics DR Series Power Inductors are suitable for a wide variety of applications and operate in a temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.
