TAIYO YUDEN Automotive-Grade Products consist of AEC-Q200 qualified and TS-16949 factory-certified multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs), inductors, and ferrite beads that withstand the harsh conditions required of automotive applications.  Featuring long lifetimes and low failure rates, these high-reliability components are also suitable for industrial equipment and medical equipment. TAIYO YUDEN uses its own raw materials and advanced technologies for greater control and flexibility on the assembly line.

Automotive-Grade Multilayer Ceramic Capacitors

TAIYO YUDEN Automotive-Grade Multilayer Ceramic Capacitors (MLCCs) are AEC-Q200 qualified and available in a capacitance range of 0.2pF to 47μF and a voltage range of 4V to 630V. These TAIYO YUDEN MLCCs are ideal for the most modern designs in automotive body/chassis, powertrain, safety, and infotainment applications. By using nickel and copper for electrode materials and plating, solderability, and heat resistance characteristics are improved, resulting in greater reliability.

Soft Termination MLCCs for High Reliability

TAIYO YUDEN Soft Termination Multilayer Ceramic Capacitors, designed for high-reliability grade applications, are AEC-Q200 qualified (for automotive systems) and offer improved resistance to bending. Conductive resin suppresses cracking, which can occur from stress deflection of the substrate, temperature cycling, and thermal shock. High noise absorption characteristics are enabled by low equivalent series resistance (ESR). TAIYO YUDEN Soft termination MLCCs provide high permissible ripple current values, small case sizes with high rated voltage, and high insulation resistance and breakdown voltage for reliability.

Multilayer Ceramic Capacitors

TAIYO YUDEN Multilayer Ceramic Capacitors are designed utilizing innovative materials and thinning sheet technologies. This material technology enables process control at the particle level, increasing the number of layers needed to realize higher capacity while reducing size. The thickness of each layer in the multilayer ceramic capacitor family is only 0.6μm at the slimmest point, and the number of layers reaches 1000 at maximum. These MLCCs are aimed at high-performance digital devices such as smartphones, tablet PCs, TVs, power supplies, general digital circuits, DC/DC converters, AEC-Q200-compliant MLCCs, and automotive applications.
