Intelligent Power Modules (IPMs)

onsemi Intelligent Power Modules (IPMs) are highly integrated solid-state power switches integrating gate-drive circuitry based on IGBTs or MOSFETs in a single module. IPMs also include protection for power systems from issues such as short circuits, under voltages, and extreme temperatures. IPMs using 600V IGBTs are used in consumer and industrial applications for driving fans, pumps, and compressors. IPMs using 40V and 80V MOSFETs are increasingly used in automotive applications to drive electric fans and pumps. 

Motion SPM® Modules

Advanced Motion SPM® 5 Modules

onsemi Advanced Motion SPM® 5 Modules provide a fully-featured and high-performance inverter output stage for AC Induction, BLDC, and PMSM motors. The SPM 5 modules integrate optimized gate drive of the built-in MOSFETs (FRFET® or SuperFET® technology) to minimize EMI and losses. This also provides multiple on-module protection features including under-voltage lockouts and thermal monitoring. The built-in high-speed HVIC requires only a single supply voltage and translates the incoming logic-level gate inputs to the high-voltage and high-current drive signals. onsemi SPM 5 modules come with separate open-source MOSFET terminals for each phase to support the widest variety of control algorithms.
