Diodes Incorporated PAM8408 Audio Amplifier offers a highly integrated solution for low power speakers. Designed as a 2x3 filter-less Class-D amplifier with memory up/down volume control, PAM8408 delivers high SNR and differential input to help eliminate noise. PAM8408's filter-less architecture minimizes the number of external components used and reduces PCB area. Advanced 32-step up/down volume control also minimizes external components and enables speaker volume control. The gain will hold when the chip is in shutdown mode. Built-in auto-recovery provides short circuit protection and thermal shutdown. PAM8408 supports 2.5V to 6V operation, making it suitable for up to four-cell alkaline battery applications. With >87% efficiency and a small PCB area, the PAM8408 Class-D amplifier is ideal for portable applications.
