The design includes four extra pins, allowing the designer to connect PoE circuitry to power PDs (Power Devices), such as security cameras or VOIP phones. This Molex connector can also deliver power from a PSE, (Power Sourcing Equipment) such as a switch or router. The 85789 series meets the PoE Plus 30W IEEE802.3at standard with backward compatibility to the 15W IEEE802.3af standard.
