The IPDs have several advantages over mechanical relays. The devices have better protection and recovery function from an electrical short and offer FIT (Failure In Time) rate improvement by a non-mechanical approach. The ICs also have space-saving solutions in the compact packages that are offered. These switch ICs are available for broad compatibility from single-channel to multi-channel high-side switches.
