Mikroe has teamed up with NXP to power the Hexiwear with the NXP Kinetis K64 32-bit Arm Cortex®-M4 MCU. The Kinetis KW4x Arm Cortex-MO+ BLE MCU provides connectivity and multiple on-board NXP sensors are included. This expandable board is packed with a 3D accelerometer and magnetometer, 3-axis digital gyroscope, pressure sensor, and 600mA battery charger. Functionality can be expanded with the docking station and the ever-growing line of click boards.
The Hexiwear has a capacitive touch interface 1.1" full-color OLED display. Applications for Android and iOS are available from the Google Play or App Store. The app connects the device to the cloud with no need for additional software development. Hexiwear uses FreeRTOS, the Kinetis software development kit (SDK) and the Kinetis Design Studio IDE.
