Mikroe MIKROE-3001 UPS Click

Mikroe MIKROE-3001 UPS Click is a supercapacitor charger that provides continuous power for a load connected to the output terminals. This click also provides a temporary backup power supply in cases when the main power supply is abruptly disconnected. Mikroe MIKROE-3001 UPS click provides power for applications with high peak power requirements, such as LED flashes, HDD bursts, and GPRS/GSM transmitters. This click uses two 3.3F supercapacitors connected in series, which are used as temporary power storage banks.

The MIKROE-3001 UPS click uses the LTC3225, a 150mA supercapacitor charger from Linear Technologies, used to charge two serially connected capacitors with a controlled current and constant voltage. The LTC3225 IC has the unique ability to maintain a constant voltage level on both of the connected supercapacitors by monitoring the voltages.

Features

  • Automatic supercapacitor cell balancing
