Microchip Technology MIC28515 HLL Step Down Evaluation Board (ADM00845)
Microchip Technology MIC28515 HLL Step Down Evaluation Board (ADM00845) is designed to demonstrate the MIC28515 Synchronous Buck Switcher over an input supply range of 4.5V to 75V while providing 5A. This evaluation board operates with a programmable switching frequency from 270kHz to 800kHz and with two selectable modes. These modes of operation are Continuous Conduction Mode (CCM) and Hyper Light Load (HLL) mode. The MIC28515 evaluation board features an open-drain Power Good (PG) signal that signals when the output is in regulation. The Microchip Technology MIC28515 Evaluation Board requires only a single power supply with at least 5A current capability. The MIC28515 has an internal PVDD LDO so no external linear regulator is required to power the internal biasing of the IC.
Features
- 10V to 75V input voltage range (optimized for 48V)
- 0.8V, 1.2V, 2.5V, 3.3V, 5V, or 12V output voltages selectable through jumper J10
- 300kHz switching frequency (adjustable from 270kHz to 800kHz)
- Features MODE selection through jumper J6:
- Allows to select either CCM or HLL mode of operation
- Open-drain Power Good (PG) signal that signals when the output is in regulation
- Logic level Enable (EN) signal that can be used to enable or disable the controller
