Texas Instruments TPS2388 8-Port Power Source Equipment Controllers

Texas Instruments TPS2388 8-Port Power-over-Ethernet Power Source Equipment Controllers are engineered to insert power onto an Ethernet cable. The TPS2388 PSE can detect powered devices (PDs) with valid signatures. The PSE controller also determines the power requirements according to the classification and applies power through either one (Type -1) or two-event (Type-2) physical classification. UPoE and other non-standard loads are supported due to the flexibility of the TPS2388. Software migration from previous generation PSE devices is simplified by port remapping, and the device pinout allows designers to enable 2-layer PCB designs. Designers can further balance size, efficiency, thermal, and solution cost requirements with the external FET architecture. The Fast Shutdown (OSS) input provides up to eight levels per port shutdown priority, ideal for applications requiring immediate disabling of multiple ports.
