Vishay Semiconductors VEML High Accuracy Ambient Light Sensors
Vishay Semiconductors VEML High Accuracy Ambient Light Sensors are housed in miniature transparent packages and feature an easy-to-use I2C interface. These digital 16-bit resolution sensors include a high-sensitive photodiode, low-noise amplifier, and a 16-bit A/D converter. The VEML series has an operating voltage of 2.5V to 3.6V with an I2C BUS voltage range of 1.7V to 3.6V. Vishay Semiconductors VEML High Accuracy Ambient Light Sensors provide additional ambient light functions such as temperature compensation and high dynamic detection resolution with a software shutdown mode control. The VEML6030 sensors offer a cost-effective alternative to a lux meter. Under all lighting conditions, the VEML6030 output is within 10% of a calibrated lux meter. The VEML6030 devices incorporate photodiodes, amplifiers, analog/digital circuits, and an I2C interface in a single-chip. The sensors feature Filtron™ technology, Vishay's on-chip optical filtering.
