Vishay Semiconductors VSMY98545 High Power Infrared Emitting Diodes are a part of the SurfLightTM portfolio. The VSMY98545 are infrared, 850nm emitting diodes based on surface emitter technology with high radiant power and high speed, molded-in low thermal resistance SMD package with a lens. A 42mil chip provides outstanding radiant intensity and allows DC operation of the devices up to 1A (VSMY98545DS, VSMY98545ADS) or 1.5A (VSMY98545). Additionally, the VSMY98545DS, VSMY98545ADS diodes offer double-stack technology and a Zener diode for ESD protection up to 2KV. Typical applications include infrared illumination for CMOS cameras (CCTV), illumination for cameras (3D gaming), machine vision, 3D TV, and bio identification.The Vishay Semiconductors VSMY98545ADS IR Emitting Diode is a new generation IR emitter that increases the radiant intensity while cutting rise/fall times in half compared to the VSMY98545DS. These improvements allow for better performance at a similar cost point.
