STMicroelectronics IPS161H Single High-Side Switches

STMicroelectronics IPS161H Single High-Side Switches are monolithic devices that drive capacitive, resistive, or inductive loads with one side connected to ground. The IPS161H are specifically designed to match the safety integrity level (SIL) applications.

The switches have a built-in thermal shutdown to protect against over-temperature and short-circuiting. A non-dissipative short-circuit protection (cut-off) is implemented to limit output average current value and overheating. This minimizes the power dissipation when the output is shorted. The DIAG common diagnostic pin reports the thermal shutdown, open load in off-state, and cut-off. Cut-off delay time can be programmed by an external capacitor.
