STMicroelectronics CAM-16GZ VD16GZ Promodules are a full range of sample camera modules designed to evaluate and seamlessly integrate the VD16GZ 1.5-megapixel RGB-IR image sensor. The ready-to-use vision extensions integrate the VD16GZ image sensor, lens holder, lens, and plug-and-play flex connection in a compact package down to 6.5mm square.

The STMicro CAM-16GZ line implements the complete toolbox of on-chip attributes of the embedded VD16GZ image sensor, such as auto exposure or context management. Multiple GPIOs allow users to synchronize the modules with triggers and illumination. Implementing the MIPI CSI-2 output, the promodules are ideal for embedded low-power setups. Multiple promodule references are available, featuring various lenses to ideally match the requirements of every application in terms of optical setup and mechanical constraints. All camera modules are supplied with the same FPC-to-board connector and pinout. The plug-and-play architecture permits users to change the promodule instantly and reuse the same setup with different lenses, color options, and image sensors in the ST BrightSense portfolio.

The CAM-6GZ-073CLR is a VD16GZ promodule with a 73° FoV lens, while the CAM-6GZ-152CLR is a VD16GZ promodule with a 152° FoV lens.
